PROFESSIONAL LIFE JOURNEYS

ACTIVITIES EXPERIENCED FOR COACHING CERTIFICATION

BREAK THE ARROW ACTIVITY

Based on an ancient Fijian ritual, it's the practice of placing the point of a wooden arrow in the soft tissue area in the middle of your throat and the other end against a hard solid surface, then stepping forward until you snap the arrow without injury. As the video shows, I dared to take that scary step forward to go out of my comfort zone, but in the end, I made a genuinely empowered choice rather than a fear-based choice. It's about managing your thoughts, limiting beliefs and emotional responses.  The real value for me was to transfer that learning to my real personal and professional breakthroughs.   I keep my broken arrow as a reminder that I can achieve far more than I used to believe that I could by focusing my mind on my higher purpose in life and by tapping into my own inner resources and greatness.  We ALL have greatness.

CRACK THE BOARD ACTIVITY

A Powerful Metaphor to Transfer to Life
BREAKING A BOARD with your palm can be "easy", "difficult" or "impossible".  As you see in the video, it was the last option for yours truly -- NOT the first option like the others . . .
I was the  ONLY person in the group who couldn't crack it!  Yes, that's right.  Looking back, I see myself and remember how much I only focused on the negative side -- "I can't.  I can't!  I'm the worse one.  I'm so embarrassed!  Everyone thinks I'm an idiot!"  And that negative energy grew and kept getting more powerful, until it was impossible.  Sounds familiar to any of you, no matter what the issue is?!
I believe we all have the ability to "crack" the board easily; it's just a question of whether our "inner stuff" is getting in the way or paving the way to that desired outcome.  We get in our own way with our limiting beliefs, thinking and emotional responses, however, we have the power to change them. Easier said than done, of course.  There's no magic.  In life empowered choices to achieving our goals means deciding to do it NOW, giving 100% commitment and then noticing remarkable results.  Remember, either  choosing 100% that "I will do it!" or deciding 100% that "I'm not going to do it because it is not the right goal / right time for me" makes life immediately easier.  Indecision, hesitation and/or procrastination are uncomfortable.  Frustrating.  Stressful.

FIRE WALKING ACTIVITY

The Ultimate Metaphor for CHANGE It's a short barefoot walk across a fire measuring 1200º F  / 649º C safely and confidently. It was a real life changing experience.  Everyone remembers the first time they walked on fire, and everyone has their own personal reason for taking part.  By the end of the firewalk, you'll have at your disposal tools and techniques that you can instantly apply to your life to overcome fears, end self-doubt nd sabotage and feelings of lack and worthlessness. I have redefined my sense of "impossible" and that experience serves as a powerful reminder for me so that I can help change, motivate, inspire, empower and engage my clients, participants, students, family and friends.
